WESTFIELD, Mass. – For the second straight day, an opponent got off to a fast start and held on for a win over the Southern Berkshire Knights at the 16-year-old Babe Ruth New England Regional on Bullens Field.

 

On Saturday, it was the Vermont State Champion scoring five times in the bottom of the first en route to a 6-2 win over the Knights.

 

Cam Coon, Caden Thayer and Dom Newton combined on the mound to allow just two earned runs in the loss for Southern Berkshire.

 

Coon also drove in a run for the Knights, who got a hit and an RBI from Gabe Ranzoni.

 

Southern Berkshire (0-2) finishes pool play on Sunday morning against Rhode Island.
