The Nature Conservancy To Remove Egremont House

EGREMONT, Mass. — Twenty-one years ago, The Nature Conservancy, Egremont Land Trust, and the state Division of Fisheries and Wildlife and the Department of Conservation and Recreation protected 213 acres of forested lands in Mt. Washington and Egremont, Mass., in the Berkshires.    The parcel is part of a 36,000-acre intact forest block which includes the headwaters of Karner Brook, an area of critical environmental concern and a public water supply for Egremont residents. NORTH ADAMS, Mass. -- The Championship matchups are set for the Northern Berkshire Sports Academy's fall basketball season.   The title games are set for Sunday morning at Drury High School.   In the A Division, the NBSA will play Giardina and Bresett PC at 9 a.m. Then, the Saboteurs will take on Adelson and Company in the B Division final.   All four teams advanced with semi-final wins on Oct. 29 at the Armory.   Jon Gregory scored 31 points to lead Adelson and Company. Drury's McGrath Leads Springfield College Offense

Drury High graduate Kayla McGrath has a team-high eight goals for the Springfield College women's soccer team this fall.   Last week, she scored both Pride goals in a 2-0 win over Wellesley.   McGrath's two game-winning goals this season is currently seventh in the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference.   She has played 29 games and has 10 starts over the last two seasons for Springfield, which was 8-4-5 overall (6-2-3 in the NEWMAC) in the regular season and opens the conference tournament on Tuesday against Smith.   Westfield State senior (Wahconah) has appeared in three games with one start in goal for the Owls, stopping six shots while

McCann Tech Students Plan Charity Run for Maui Fire Relief

GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. -- The 24th annual Monument Cup 3-on-3 soccer tournament returns on Sunday, Sept. 24, at Monument Mountain Regional High School.   The event features boys and girls divisions in the under-10, under-12 and under-14 age groups.   Teams of three to four players are guaranteed at least three matches.
