Millers, Thunder Win Berkshire Adult Baseball League Titles

The Berkshire Thunder and GB Millers each swept their way to Berkshire Adult Baseball League titles over the weekend.   At Wahconah Park on Sunday, the Thunder edged the Dalton Moneymakers, 6-5, to wrap up their best-of-three championship series in the 33-and-over division of the BABL.   The Thunder, which won the opener, 6-1, on Saturday, got a strong pitching performance from three different players in Game 2.   Joe Bateman, Cory Hillard and Seamus Morrison combined to allow just two earned runs in the title clincher.   Hillard got the win with four innings of work in relief, scattering four hits and allowing all five runs -- three unearned as the Thunder committed

Berkshire Adult Baseball League Playoffs Continue Wednesday

Rodriguez Leads Millers in Battle for First Place

LENOX, Mass. -- Brian Rodriguez went 3-for-3 with a home run and a double on Sunday to lead the GB Millers to a 3-2 win over the Berkshire Bandits in the Berkshire Adult Baseball League's 20-and-over division.   Rodriguez hit a one-out single in the bottom of the sixth and scored on Chip Paul's single to break a 2-2 tie as the Millers swept the regular season series from the Bandits, who came into Sunday's game a half-game behind GB for first place with two weekends left in the regular season.   Rodriguez also earned the win on the mound with two innings of relief, striking out four including striking out the side in order in the top of the seventh.   Dick Dumas

Garceau Earns All-America Honors at UMass Boston

Wahconah Regional High School graduate and UMass Boston sophomore Aryianna Garceau earned all-America honors in the 100-meter hurdles at May's NCAA Division III Championships.   Garceau took sixth in the finals with a time of 14.05 seconds after qualifying for the finals with a time of 13.97, which broke a 35-year school record.   In earning all-America honors, Garceau became the 20th Beacon to achieve that honor and the first since 2018.   Earlier in May, Garceau was named to the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Association's all-Region team. Berkshire Youth Soccer Holds Season-Ending Tournament
