Susan E. Suriner

Susan E. Suriner, 52, of 35 Division St., died yesterday at home.

She was a longtime resident of Pittsfield. Before that, she lived in Port Orange, Fla., for seven years.

Born in Westfield on Oct. 27, 1955, daughter of Donald E. O'Brien Sr. and Beatrice Termini, she attended local schools and was a 1973 graduate of Pittsfield High School.

She enjoyed bingo and casinos.

She and her husband, Wayne A. Suriner, were married Jan. 15, 1977.

Besides her father, of Cheshire, and her mother, of Bennington, Vt., and her husband, she leaves a son, Todd J. Suriner of Kuna, Idaho; a daughter, Rebecca A. Suriner of Pittsfield; her stepmother, Margaret O'Brien of Cheshire; her stepfather, Clyde Lanfair, of Bennington, Vt., two brothers, Donald E. O'Brien Jr. of Hinsdale and Steven M. O'Brien of Lanesborough; two sisters, Nance Brazee of Raynham and Pamela O'Brien of Lynn; a stepsister, Rachel Marchisio of Pittsfield; a half-sister, Marcia Feeley of Dalton; and three grandchildren. A son, Wayne. R. Suriner, died Aug. 1, 1987.

FUNERAL NOTICE -- Services for Susan O'Brien Suriner, who died at her home, Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2007, surrounded by her loving family, will be conducted at 11 a.m. tomorrow at DERY FUNERAL HOME by the Rev. Noreen P. Suriner, her sister-in-law, interim rector of St. John's Episcopal Church in Northampton. Burial will follow in Pittsfield Cemetery.

A reception will follow at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, 67 East St. Calling hours will precede the service beginning at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mrs. Suriner may be made to HospiceCare in the Berkshires, care of the funeral home, 54 Bradford St.

Mrs. Suriner leaves her three granddaughters, MacKenzie of Pittsfield and Jillian and Grace of Kuna, Idaho. A sister, Kathleen B. O'Brien, died Oct. 20, 1997.
