E. Myrl Herzig, 77, of New Lenox Road died Saturday at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in Milton on Nov. 2, 1930, daughter of Alfred A. and Esther Williamson Gleason, she was a 1948 graduate of Milton High School. She moved to Lenox many years ago.
Mrs. Herzig was a homemaker.
She was a member of the Layman's Home Missionary Movement and enjoyed playing the organ, crocheting and cooking.
She and her husband, Robert A. Herzig, were married May 21, 1949, in Milton.
Besides her husband, she leaves two sons, Allan T. Herzig of Becket and Phillip C. Herzig of Goshen; six daughters, Elaine L. Markham of Stockbridge, Nancy M. Whitman of Holden, Amy E. Long of Palmer, Sarah J. Dallaire of Nashua, N.H., Shirley A. Lafave of Witchita, Kan., and Emily F. Herzig of Beverly; a sister, Lois M. Nilson of Mansfield; and 11 grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for E. Myrl Herzig, who died Saturday, Dec. 8, 2007, will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at ROCHE FUNERAL HOME in Lenox. Burial will follow in Mountain View Cemetery. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Layman's Home Missionary Movement, in care of the funeral home, 120 Main St., Lenox, MA 01240. Mrs. Herzig also leaves her loving grandchildren, Timothy, Ernest, Jessie Ellen, Jeremy, Adam, Kaitlyn, Ashley, Molly, Matthew, Joshua and Rebecca.
