Cecile Juliett Cutting, 86, of Penacook, N.H., mother of Eva Jane "Zoe Jilleen" Cutting of Pittsfield, died Nov. 25 at Concord (N.H.) Regional VNA Hospice House.
Born in Franklin, N.H., on Feb. 20, 1921, daughter of Eusebe and Marilize Leblanc Fournier, she attended schools in the Penacook-Boscawen, N.H., area.
Mrs. Cutting was employed briefly by J.C. Penney Co. in the 1960s.
She was a member of United Church of Penacook and of the Penacook Community Center's Senior Citizens Group.
She also taught arts and crafts to children in local 4-H clubs and was a volunteer at Concord Hospital.
She and her husband, Harry Cutting Sr., were married two weeks after the Hurricane of 1939 in a parlor lit by candles because there was no power anywhere. They built their retirement home on the Contoocook River. Mr. Cutting died Aug. 7, 2000.
Besides her daughter, she leaves a son, Harry Cutting Jr. of Manchester, N.H.; three other daughters, Ethel Furlong of Penacook, Carol Barton of Bolton, Vt., and Susan Gay of Plymouth; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- A celebration of the life of Cecile Juliett Cutting, who died Sunday, Nov. 25, 2007, will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at United Church of Penacook, 21 Merrimack St., Penacook, N.H. Memorial donations may be made to the United Church of Penacook Capital Improvement Fund, P.O. Box 6178, Penacook, NH, 03303; to CRVNA Hospice House, P.O. Box 1797, Concord, NH, 03302; or to the charity of your choice. WENDELL J. BUTT FUNERAL HOME in Penacook is in charge of arrangements. The family wishes to thank Hospice House of Concord for the incredible care, love and concern that was given.
