Congetta M. Kirchner, 79, of 57 John St., died yesterday at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in Lee on Nov. 10, 1927, daughter of Peter and Congetta Borsellino Colombari, she was a 1946 graduate of Lee High School.
Mrs. Kirchner was employed as a bookkeeper by the former Clark-Aiken in Lee, by Haddad Motors and by the former England Brothers department store, retiring from the latter in 1974.
She was a communicant of St. Agnes' Church. She was a pianist and enjoyed camping, cooking, sewing and motorcycling.
She and her husband, Robert F. Kirchner, celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary Oct. 8. They were married at St. Mary's Church in Lee.
Besides her husband, she leaves three sons, Joseph R. Kirchner of Hinsdale, Peter R. Kirchner of Dalton and James W. Kirchner of Dalton; a daughter, Judith Wagner of Dalton; and six grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Services for Congetta M. Kirchner, who died Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2007, will be Friday at 9:15 a.m. at DERY FUNERAL HOME, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Agnes' Church celebrated by the Rev. Mark Mengel, SSC, pastor of St. Teresa's Church in Pittsfield.
Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Dalton. Calling hours will be Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mrs. Kirchner may be made to HospiceCare in the Berkshires, the Dalton Fire Department or to the Leukemia Society, all in care of the funeral home, 890 East Main St., Dalton.
Mrs. Kirchner leaves her grandchildren, Lee Kirchner, Congetta Wagner, Jason Wagner, Kara Wagner, Kyle Kirchner and Ruth Kirchner. She was predeceased by three brothers and four sisters.
