Peter Trova

Peter Trova, 94, of Mansfield Avenue, Norton, formerly of Pittsfield, died Saturday at home.
He spent winters in Port Richey, Fla., for 22 years.
Born in Wilmerding, Pa., on Sept. 8, 1913, son of Alessandro and Margharita Marcellino Trova, he was educated in Italy and in Pittsfield public schools. He and his family moved back to Mombercelli, Italy, where they lived for 10 years before moving to Pittsfield. He lived in Pittsfield for 50 years before moving to Norton 27 years ago.
Mr. Trova was a self-employed carpenter and a custom builder of homes in the Pittsfield area.
He was a communicant of All Souls' Church and a charter officer of the Italian-American Club. After retirement, he took up wood carving and woodworking, and in his younger years enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing bocce.
He and his wife, the former Mary C. Strona, were married April 18, 1936.
Besides his wife, he leaves a daughter, Saundra V. Perez of Norton; a son, Peter R. Trova of Pittsfield; two sisters, Rose Nigrelli of Pittsfield and Angelina Trombley of Pompano Beach, Fla.; six grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- A funeral Mass for Peter Trova, who died Saturday, Nov. 3, 2007, will be celebrated tomorrow at 11 a.m. at St. Mary's Church on South Worcester Street, Norton. Burial will be Thursday at 11:30 a.m. in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Pittsfield.
Visitation will be held prior to the funeral Mass tomorrow beginning at 10 a.m. at NORTON FUNERAL HOME, 19 Clapp St. (off Route 140, Taunton Ave.), Norton. In lieu of flowers, Peter's family has requested that donations in his memory be made to Community Visiting Nurse Agency Inc., 10 Emory St., Attleboro, MA 02703.
Mr. Trova also leaves a son-in-law, Santiago Perez; a daughter-in-law, Barbara Trova; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings, Louis and Emilio Trova. For additional information, please visit www.nortonmemorial.com.
