Julie A. Ferris, 61, of Main Street, died Sunday at home after a long illness.
Born in Pittsfield on Sept. 27, 1946, daughter of Dr. Alfred J. Ferris and Amy George Ferris, she was a 1964 graduate of St. Joseph's High School. She attended Juilliard School of Music in New York and graduated from the New York School of Interior Design.
She also graduated from a school of cosmetology in New York and was licensed in both New York and Massachusetts. She moved to Lenox in the early 1970s.
Ms. Ferris volunteered as a usher at Tanglewood for a number of years.
She was a communicant of St. Mary's Church in Lee and a member of the Ladies' Golf League at Cranwell Resort & Golf Club.
She leaves two brothers, Dr. Alfred J. Ferris of Tampa, Fla., and Dr. James J. Ferris of Castle Rock, Colo.; and a sister, Elaine M. Vosit of Lenox.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- A Memorial Mass for Julie A. Ferris , who died Sunday, Oct. 21, 2007, will be celebrated Friday, Nov. 9, at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Church in Lee by the Rev. Peter A. Gregory, pastor of St. Charles' Church in Pittsfield.
Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Pittsfield. Friends wishing may make donations to the Lee Regional Visiting Nurse Association or to HospiceCare in the Berkshires, in care of KELLY FUNERAL HOME, 3 Main St., Lee, MA 01238.
There will be no visiting hours. Julie also leaves her sisters-in-law, Dianne and Babetta Ferris; her brother-in-law, attorney Joseph G. Vosit; and seven nieces and nephews.
