Frances Ann Dastoli

Frances Ann Dastoli, 90, of The Pines, 1450 North St., died Sunday at Berkshire Medical Center.

Born in Pittsfield on Jan. 1, 1917, daughter of Rocco and Mary Sanginetti Yervasi, she was a graduate of Pittsfield High School and of Trapahagen School of Art in New York City.

Mrs. Dastoli owned and operated the former Tiny Towne for more than 20 years and the former Luv Bug clothing store for 14 years. Before that, she managed the former Van Dyke Photography Studio for 10 years.

She was a communicant of Mount Carmel Church and a member of its Ladies' Guild and choir.

She enjoyed cooking, doing watercolor and oil paintings, and working with stained glass. She was a fan of the Boston Red Sox.

Her husband, Joseph F. Dastoli, whom she married May 30, 1939, died Nov. 22, 2000.

She leaves a son, Mark F. Dastoli of Enfield, Conn.; two daughters, Carmine Donati Ostrikis and Dianne D. Roach, both of Pittsfield; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

FUNERAL NOTICE -- Services for Frances Ann Dastoli, who died Sunday, Oct. 14, 2007, will be held Thursday at 9:15 a.m. from DERY FUNERAL HOME, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Charles' Church celebrated by the Rev. Peter A. Gregory, pastor.

Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be tomorrow from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mrs. Dastoli may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, in care of the funeral home, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield.

Mrs. Dastoli also leaves a son-in-law, Donald Ostrikis; a daughter-in-law, Kathy; grandchildren, Laurie, Deborah, Michael, Jennifer and George Jr.; great-grandchildren, Jodi, Sheena, Ashley, Nicole, Matthew, Kevin and Kayla; and great-great-grandchildren, Robert, Nevaeh, Natalia, Antonio and Claire Rose.

She was predeceased by a grandson, Corey Marc Roach, and by a sister, Josephine.
