Robert C. Rocca

Robert C. Rocca, 82, of 31 Pacific St. died Saturday at Craneville Place in Dalton.
Born in Pittsfield on July 13, 1925, son of Michael and Angelina Galiano Rocca, he was educated in local schools.
He left high school to join the Army during World War II and served as a private first class with the Combat Engineers in the European theater. He was awarded numerous campaign medals.
Mr. Rocca was head custodian and supervisor for the Pittsfield School System until retiring in 1990.
He was a member of Christian Assembly Church.
He leaves three brothers, Russell Rocca and William Rocca, both of Pittsfield, and George Rocca of Hinsdale.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Services for Robert C. Rocca, who died Saturday, Oct. 6, 2007, will be conducted tomorrow at 11 a.m. by the Rev. Joseph A. Nieves at WELLINGTON FUNERAL HOME, 220 East Street, Pittsfield. There will be a calling hour from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mr. Rocca's memory to the Christian Assembly Missionary Fund in care of the funeral home. Mr. Rocca also leaves numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by five brothers, Samuel, Francis, Joseph, Alfred and John Rocca, and by a sister, Anna Rocca.
