Eleanor G. Lewis, 88, of 217 Harryel St. died Sunday at Kimball Farms Nursing Care Center, where she had resided since January 2003.
Born in Pittsfield on Nov. 24, 1918, daughter of Clark M. and Mary Boice Groves, she was a graduate of Pittsfield High School.
Mrs. Lewis was employed by General Electric Co. for 18 years as a cost clerk and by Bardwell, D'Angelo & Bowlby as an insurance clerk for 11 years.
She was a member of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church and enjoyed knitting and reading.
Her husband, Walter E. Lewis, whom she married Oct. 7, 1945, died Jan. 29, 2004.
She leaves a daughter, Sharon Iacuessa of Pittsfield; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- A memorial service for Eleanor G. Lewis, who died Sept. 30, 2007, will be private and at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours. Donations in her memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, in care of WELLINGTON FUNERAL HOME, 220 East St., Pittsfield, MA 01201.
She also leaves her grandchildren, Mark Iacuessa and his wife, Brenda, of North Adams, Teri Iacuessa of North Adams and Michelle Iacuessa of Beacon, N.Y.; and two great-grandchildren, Katelyn Iacuessa and Amber Iacuessa, both of North Adams.
