Robert Raymond Secord, 81, of 155 First St., died Tuesday at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in Stoneham on March 3, 1926, son of Medrick and Leda Pratte Secord, he was a 1946 graduate of Pittsfield High School.
He was a Navy veteran of World War II.
A plumber, Mr. Secord was employed by Yankee Plumbing and Heating, retiring in 1976 with more than 20 years of service. Before that, he was employed by Shedd Plumbing and Heating.
He was a volunteer teaching assistant in computer education at Berkshire Community College and enjoyed opearting ham radios.
Mr. Secord leaves three sons, Bruce A. Secord of Taylorville, Ill., and Brian S. and Barry M. Secord, both of Pittsfield; a daughter, Lynne V. Scott of North Fort Myers, Fla.; and eight grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Services for Robert Raymond Secord, who died Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2007, will be private. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mr. Secord may be made to the Respiratory Care Unit at Berkshire Medical Center, or to HospiceCare in The Berkshires, in care of DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield.
Mr. Secord also leaves his eight grandchildren, Rebecca R. Tolisano, Kathryn E. Scott, Peter M. Sprague, Kaitlin A., Marissa J., Paige E., Savannah and Cheyanne Secord and Carly Garofano; a daughter-in-law, Jean P. Sprague; his former companion, Katherine Link; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a brother, Donald Secord.
