Katherine Sarah LaMountain, 89, of Melbourne Place, formerly of 11 John St., died yesterday at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in Marsboro, Quebec, on Oct. 30, 1917, daughter of Angus M. and Mary Smith Matheson, she was a graduate of the former Berkshire Business College.
Mrs. LaMountain was employed as a billing clerk by Byron Weston Co.
She was an active member of the Dalton United Methodist Church, and enjoyed crafts, sewing, dancing and traveling.
Her husband, Joseph J. LaMountain, whom she married July 6, 1940, died Feb. 10, 1998.
She leaves two sons, Robert "Tex" LaMountain of Greenfield and Dennis M. LaMountain of Richmond, Va.; two daughters, Nina Bowers of Dalton and Virginia Larson of Manlius, N.Y.; 10 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Katherine Sarah LaMountain, who died Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2007, will be condcuted Friday at 10 a.m. at Dalton United Methodist Church, by the Rev. Robert R. Jackson, pastor.
Burial will follow in Ashuelot Cemetery. Calling hours will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at DERY-FOLEY FUNERAL HOME, 890 East Main St., Dalton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Dalton United Methodist Church in care of the funeral home.
