Viola E. Hannon

Viola E. Hannon, 97, of Dennisport died Saturday at Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis.

She was the mother of Jean M. Kasala of Pittsfield.

Born in Worcester on March 11, 1910, daughter of Adam and Rose Pryczgoda Lewinski, she lived there for many years before moving to Dennisport in 1970.

Mrs. Hannon was employed as a shipper for Henry L. Hanson Co. in Worcester for many years, retiring in 1972.

She enjoyed politics, knitting, sewing and gardening.

Besides her daughter, she leaves a son, Daniel J. Hannon of Worcester and Dennisport; five grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Viola E. Hannon, who died Saturday, Sept. 1, 2007, will be Wednesday at O'CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Ave., Worcester, with a Mass at 10 a.m. at St. John's Church, 40 Temple St., Worcester.

Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701, or to the charity of the donor's choice.

She also leaves a daughter-in-law Arlene Hannon; a son-in-law, Edward Kasala; and nephews and nieces. Two brothers, Stanley Lewinski and Henry Pryczgoda, and three sisters, Helen and Janet Lewinski, and Stasia Hammond, predeceased her.
