Rose Anne Munson

Rose Anne Munson, 86, of Berkshire Place, formerly of 70 Pleasant St., died Friday at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield.
She had resided at Berkshire Place for a year.
Born in Plymouth on June 26, 1921, daughter of Ralph and Antoinette Viella Bernardo, she was educated in schools there and was a 1939 graduate of Plymouth High School. She moved to Dalton in 1945.
Mrs. Munson worked for The Berkshire Eagle for 20 years as a proofreader, retiring in 1978.
She attended Dalton United Methodist Church and was past president of the 20th Century Club of Dalton.
She loved animals and opera, especially Wagner's works.
Her husband, Harold I. Munson, whom she married on March 18, 1942, died June 13, 2001.
Mrs. Munson leaves two sons, Brian K. Munson of Quincy and Harold I. Munson Jr. of Kansas City, Mo.; a sister, Madeline B. Corvini of Plymouth; and a grandson.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Graveside services for Rose Anne Munson, who died Friday, Aug. 17, 2007, were private and held in the Ashuelot Cemetery in Dalton yesterday. There will be no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the Berkshire Humane Society or the Dalton United Methodist Church's New Roof Fund, in care of BARTLETT-WELLINGTON FUNERAL HOME, 525 Main St., Dalton, MA 01226, which is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Munson also leaves a grandson, Lee Hewitt Munson of West Chester, Pa.; a niece, Carlyn Perry of Plymouth; and a nephew, John Bernardo of Yorktown, Va. A brother, Joseph Bernardo, died in 1979. Mrs. Munson also leaves many nieces and nephews on her husband's side of the family.
