Daniel Victor "Gordy" Romero, of Sanford, N.C., 16, died Saturday at Central Carolina Hospital in Sanford in an automobile accident.
Born in Pittsfield on April 15, 1991, son of Gail Eliza Dushanek and Victor Romero, Daniel was about to begin his junior year at Southern Lee High School in Sanford.
Besides his mother, of Sanford, and his father, of Pittsfield, he leaves six brothers, Wesley Hubbard of Laurel, Md., and Lance, Terry and Dante Spratling, Dominic Smith and Christopher Doucette, all of Pittsfield; and a sister, Diane Romero, also of Pittsfield.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- The family will receive friends for Daniel Victor Romero, who died Saturday, Aug. 4, 2007, from 12 to 2 p.m. on Wednesday at ROGERS-PICKARD FUNERAL HOME, with a memorial service following at 3 p.m. at Southern Lee High School
in the gymnasium. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Daniel Romero Memorial Fund, c/o Rogers-Pickard Funeral Home, 509 Carthage St., Sanford, NC 27330. Arrangements are by Rogers-Pickard Funeral Home. His multi-talented charisma reached and was loved by his many friends.
He will be sorely missed by all. He leaves his maternal grandparents, Guy and Carole Dushanek of Naples, Fla.; paternal grandparents Victorino and Luz Romero of Puerto Rico.
