Lena Victoria Angelini

Lena Victoria Angelini, 102, formerly of 27 Pembroke Ave., in the Lakewood section, died yesterday at Berkshire Place where she had resided since August 2003.

Born in San Gimignano, province of Siena, Italy, on Sept. 5, 1904, daughter of Cesare and Maria Ghini Leoncini, she moved to Pittsfield with her parents in 1906 and attended local schools.

Primarily a homemaker, Mrs. Angelini was first employed by General Electric Co. in the laboratory. She returned to the work force in 1950 as a seamstress for the former Elise Farrar shop in Lenox, where she worked until 1964.

Mrs. Angelini was a communicant of All Souls Church and a member of its Ladies' Society.

She was a charter member of the Italian-American Club of Pittsfield. She enjoyed cooking and sewing.

Her husband, Erminio Angelini, whom she married Sept. 24, 1927, died in 1964.

Mrs. Angelini leaves two sons, Thomas Angelini of Pittsfield and Edward Angelini of Birmingham, Ala.; a sister, Leona Roberts of Pittsfield; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a great great-grandchild.

FUNERAL NOTICE -- Services for Lena Victoria Angelini, who died Monday, July 30, 2007, will be Thursday at 9:15 a.m. from the DERY FUNERAL HOME. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. at All Souls Church by the Rev. Peter A. Gregory, pastor of St. Charles' Church.

Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be tomorrow from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mrs. Angelini may be made to Berkshire Place in care of the funeral home, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield.

Mrs. Angelini, who enjoyed spending time with her family, also leaves her daughter-in-law, Penny (Mrs. Thomas) and Maureen (Mrs. Edward). She was predeceased by her brother, Bruno Leoncini and her sister, Ann Leoncini.
