Catherine B. Carey, 99, died Friday at Providence Care Center in Lenox.
She was the mother of Frances P. Conaghan of Pittsfield.
Born in County Roscommon, Ireland on Nov. 9, 1907, daughter of John and Mary Hardiman Ryan, she attended schools there and came to the United States in 1926.
She settled in Dorchester, where she lived until moving to Stoughton 10 years ago.
Mrs. Carey was a homemaker. She enjoyed playing cards.
She was the wife of the late Michael B. Carey. They were married on Oct 12, 1935.
Besides her daughter, she leaves three other daughters, Margaret M. Kelley and Catherine P. MacPherson, both of Marco Island, Fla., and Nancy E. McElaney of Stoughton; a son, John P. Carey, of Marco Island, Fla.; 13 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Catherine B. Ryan Carey, who died on Friday, July 13, 2007, will be held at FARLEY FUNERAL HOME, 358 Park St. (Route 27), Stoughton, on Thursday at 9:30 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass at St. Gregory's Church, Dorchester, at 11 a.m. Visiting hours are Wednesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.

She also leaves three sons-in-law, William MacPherson, Charles Conaghan and Edward McElaney; a daughter-in-law, Katherine Millis; and many nieces and nephews.
A son-in-law, Martin Kelley, is deceased. She also enjoyed spending time with her family.
