Jo Ann Kinner, 73, of 135 Rathbun Road, died Saturday at Hillcrest Commons, where she had resided for a short time.
Born in Texarkana, Ark., on Jan. 20, 1934, daughter of Ralph J. and Teresa Frame Stalker, she was a graduate of San Diego public schools.
Mrs. Kinner was employed by the NET office in Pittsfield, and in 1973, became the first female manager of the office. She worked for over 40 years, retiring in 1994. She had been employed by various branches of the Bell System as a manager in different telephone divisions.
She enjoyed playing golf, gardening and reading.
Her husband, James E. Kinner, whom she married Aug. 25, 1953, died March 21, 2004.
Mrs. Kinner leaves a sister, Peggy Jane Daniels of Rose Hill, Kan.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- A graveside service for Jo Ann Kinner, who died June 30, 2007, will be held Thursday at Pittsfield Cemetery at 11 a.m. by the Rev. Luis Benaviedas of the First United Methodist Church of Pittsfield.
Friends are asked to meet inside the cemetery gates at 10:45 a.m. There will be a public visitation Tuesday from 11 a.m. to noon at WELLINGTON FUNERAL HOME. In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to the American Cancer Society, care of the funeral home, 220 East St., Pittsfield, MA 01201.
Mrs. Kinner also leaves a nephew, Stephen Daniels of San Diego; a niece, Kelly Ramey of San Diego; a great-niece, Meaghan; and two great-nephews, Emerson and Miles Ramey.
