Martha M. Coppolino

Martha M. Coppolino, 87, of 61 Taconic St., died Tuesday at Berkshire Medical Center shortly after being admitted.

Born in Glens Falls, N.Y., on Nov. 14, 1919, daughter of Henry and Louise LaPointe LaFountain, she attended local schools.

Mrs. Coppolino was employed by General Electric Co. for 17 years as a solderer in the ordnance department. She retired in 1990.

She was a communicant of Mount Carmel Church and a member of its Ladies' Guild, and a member of the Womens' Club of Pittsfield.

She was a Red Sox fan and enjoyed bingo, cooking, sewing, knitting and candlepin bowling.

She and her husband, Dominic Coppolino, were married 24 years. He died June 7, 1969.

Mrs. Coppolino leaves four daughters, Jean Pizzuto, Marlene Ouellette and Rebecca Wells, all of Pittsfield, and Mildred Coppolino of Dalton; a son, John MacRoberts of Stephentown, N.Y.; a sister, Sylvia Palmer of Glens Falls; 14 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. Another son, James Elliott, is deceased.

FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Martha M. Coppolino, who died Tuesday, June 26, 2007, will be conducted Saturday at 8:15 a.m. from DEVANNY-CONDRON FUNERAL HOME, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. at Mount Carmel Church, celebrated by the Rev. Geoffrey Deeker, CSS, pastor.

Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be tomorrow from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, if friends desire, donations in her memory may be made to the American Cancer Society in care of the funeral home.

She also leaves her beloved grandchildren, Dominic, William and Daniel Pizzuto, Bonny McClure, Larry Cobb, Erich and Michael Ouellette, Dominic and Danielle Giardina, Edward MacRoberts, Denise Sherman and Shelly, Jamie, and Julie MacRoberts. She was predeceased by two brothers, Jack and Ken LaFountain.
