Eleanor M. Lamy, 87, of 33 Dan Ave., died Friday at home. She was a winter resident of Naples, Fla., for 14 years.
Born in Pittsfield on Aug. 15, 1919, daughter of Ernest V. and Mary Asci Spiriti, she graduated with honors from Pittsfield High School in 1937.
Mrs. Lamy was employed by General Electric Co. for 35 years and retired from the ordnance department in 1975.
She attended Mount Carmel Church and the former Notre Dame Church.
She was a member of the GE Quarter Century and Pensioners' clubs. She enjoyed cooking, traveling, and collecting and crafting seashells.
She and her husband, Lawrence J. Lamy, were married at Mount Carmel Church on April 26, 1943. He died March 15, 2002.
She leaves a sister, Jean O. Spiriti of Pittsfield.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Eleanor M. Lamy died Friday, June 22, 2007. A private funeral was held Tuesday, June 26, 2007, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church celebrated by the Rev. Geoffrey J. Deeker, CSS, pastor.
Burial was in the family plot in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Other survivors include a nephew, Gustave E. Meyers III. She was predeceased by a sister, Margaret Meyers. FLYNN & DAGNOLI-BENCIVENGA FUNERAL HOME, 5 Elm St., was in charge of arrangements.
