Patricia T. McQueen

Patricia T. McQueen, 76, of Eaton Lane died Wednesday at home.

Born in Rochester, N.Y., on Jan 22, 1931, daughter of George H. and Peggy Clark Thompson, she graduated from Brighton High School in Rochester and from Mount Holyoke College in South Hadley.

A resident of Berkshire County for 26 years, Mrs. McQueen was active in the Herb Associates of Berkshire Botanical Garden, St. Stephen's Table at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church and at Central Berkshire Habitat for Humanity.

She represented Berkshire County on the Bement Scholarship Committee of the Diocese of Western Massachusetts for many years. From 1991 to 2003, she directed the Lenox Studio of the Berkshire Unit of the Recording for the Blind & Dyslexic, and following her retirement, served on its board. She enjoyed gardening and world travel.

She and her husband, the Rev. Duncan R. McQueen, would have celebrated their 52nd wedding anniversary July 2. They lived in Rhode Island, served in Fiji as missionaries for seven years and resided in central Massachusetts before moving to Berkshire County.

Besides her husband, she leaves two daughters, Stephanie "Maggie" McQueen of Arlington, Va., and Laurie McQueen of Vienna, Va.; two sons, Andrew MacQueen of Lenox and James McQueen of Pittsfield; a sister Toni Harrison of Cranston, R.I.; and four grandchildren.

FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Pat McQueen will be held at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church in Pittsfield on Saturday, June 30, at 1:30 p.m. Rector Hannah Anderson and Pat's husband will conduct the service.

Pat was devoted to her family. She also leaves a son-in-law, Brian; two daughters-in-law, Kate and Lindsay; four grandchildren, Nyle, Revan, Emma and Madeleine; a brother-in-law, Charles; a nephew; two nieces; and a grandniece.
