Louis Eli NeJame

Louis Eli NeJame, 78, of Old Stockbridge Road, died yesterday at Berkshire Medical Center.

He was a former member of the Zoning Board of Appeals and of the Town Compensation Board.

Born in Lawrence on Dec. 22, 1928, son of Elias and Katherine NeJame NeJame, he attended schools in Waterbury, Conn., and was a 1946 graduate of Wilby High School there and a 1948 graduate of New Haven School of Art.

A licensed real estate broker, Mr. NeJame owned and operated Stockbridge Realty for 17 years and Beacon Advertising for 50 years.

He was a communicant of St. Ann's Church and a volunteer at its annual Lawn Party fundraiser.

He was a past president and district representative of the former Lenox Kiwanis Club and a member of the former Lebanese-American Club of Pittsfield. He was also a member of the Father William F. Davitt Council Knights of Columbus.

He and his wife, the former Coreen G. Abdalla, were married at St. Peter's Church in Great Barrington on April 15, 1956.

Besides his wife, he leaves four sons, Mark A. NeJame of Florence, Scott L. NeJame of Chatham, N.Y., Dean M. NeJame of Atlanta and Louis A. NeJame of Duxbury; a sister, Nina Marcuccio of Waterbury, Conn.; and seven grandchildren.

FUNERAL NOTICE -- A private Liturgy of Christian Burial for Louis Eli NeJame, who died Wednesday, June 20, 2007, will be celebrated tomnorrow, June 22, at St. Ann's Church in Lenox by the Rev. Christopher J. Waitekus, pastor. There will be no calling hours.

Burial will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Lenox Police Department or the Lenox Ambulance Squad, both in care of ROCHE FUNERAL HOME, 120 Main Street, Lenox, MA 01240.

Mr. NeJame also is survived by his beloved grandchildren, Elias T., Robey D., Rick L., Michael G., Louis M., Joey B. and Matthew P. Nejame; and by his daughters-in-law, Julie Kling NeJame, Gina NeJame and Meredith Paige NeJame.
