Stella J. Kruczkowski

Stella J. Kruczkowski, 83, formerly of 53 Briggs Ave., died yesterday at Berkshire Medical Center.

Born in Housatonic on April 14, 1924, daughter of Konstanty and Teofilia Stomski Plona, she was a 1941 graduate of the former Searles High School, and had been a resident of Pittsfield since 1942.

Mrs. Kruczkowski was employed by the former Sheaffer Eaton Paper Co., retiring in 1982 with 20 years of service. At one time, she was employed by the former Elmvale Worsted Mill.

She was a communicant of St. Charles & Holy Family Church, a member of the Holy Family Rosary Sodality and an auxiliary member of the Legion of Mary.

She and her husband, the former Stanley A. Kruczkowski, were married Feb. 9, 1946 in Housatonic. He died Aug. 2, 2001.

Mrs. Kruczkowski leaves a son, Stephen D. Kruczkowski of Pittsfield; a sister, Regina Plona of Housatonic; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

FUNERAL NOTICE -- Stella J. Kruczkowski died in Pittsfield on Friday, June 15, 2007. She was the loving grandmother of Jessica and Jeanna and the beloved great-grandmother of Jonah and Jaden.

The funeral will be held Monday at 8 a.m. at DWYER FUNERAL HOME, 776 North St., Pittsfield. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9 a.m. in Holy Family Church by the Rev. Peter A. Gregory, pastor of St. Charles Church.

Burial will follow in St. Bridget's Cemetery in Housatonic. Calling hours are tomorrow from 2 to 5 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to HospiceCare in the Berkshires care of the funeral home in her memory.
