John Albert Kordana

John Albert Kordana, 77, of 72 Harryel St., died yesterday at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in Adams on April 5, 1930, son of John J. and Helen Petrowicz Kordana, he was a graduate of Pittsfield High School and took courses offered through General Electric Co.
He was a Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War.
Mr. Kordana was employed by GE for 40 years, retiring in 1994 as a senior designer in the plastics division.
He was a member of GE Quarter Century and Pensioners' clubs.
He coached South Little League and Babe Ruth League baseball. He also played golf and bowled and was a fan of the New England Patriots.
His wife, the former Florence A. Arms, whom he married July 31, 1960, died June 12, 1997.
He leaves two sons, James A. Kordana of Adams and John J. Kordana of Pittsfield; a brother, Edward Kordana of Pittsfield; and two sisters, Helen Doucette and Bernice Murphy, both of Pittsfield.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for John Albert Kordana, who died Wednesday, June 13, 2007, will be conducted Friday at 10 a.m. at DERY FUNERAL HOME by the Rev. William D. Furey, pastor of Berkshire Union Chapel.
Burial will follow in Pittsfield Cemetery. Calling hours will be today from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mr. Kordana may be made to HospiceCare in the Berkshires, in care of the funeral home, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield, MA 01201.
Mr. Kordana also leaves his daughters-in-law, Celeste and Kris; his brother-in-law, Peter Arms; and 12 nieces and nephews.
