Lois S. Williams, 83, of 245 Cheshire Road, died Monday at Berkshire Medical Center.
She was born in Old Forge, N.Y., on Dec. 15, 1923, the daughter of Louis Patrick Strong Jr. and Marian Holman Strong.
She graduated from Adams High School in Adams, N.Y., in 1941 and moved to Pittsfield in 1943.
She was employed by General Electric Co. for 41 years, serving in the Naval Ordnance Department.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Pittsfield and of Berkshire Hills Country Club.
She enjoyed golfing, playing cards, reading, cooking, and gardening.
She married Francis R. Williams on March 19, 1947. He died Jan. 26, 1996.
Survivors include a son, Donald F. Williams of Ardmore, Pa.; two daughters, Cheryl Griebenow and Toni Williams, both of Fredericksburg, Texas; and two grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- The memorial gathering of family and friends of Lois S. Williams, who died Monday, June 11, 2007, will be Wednesday, June 13, 2007, at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-BENCIVENGA FUNERAL HOME, 5 Elm St., Pittsfield, from 4 to 6 p.m. Loving grandmother of Devin Williams and Jessica Griebenow.
Also survived by a daughter-in-law, Michelle Weisberg. William's father, Louis Patrick Strong Jr., served with distinction during World War I and was a survivor of the famous Lost Battalion in 1920 in France.
