Ruth C. Dingham Longacre, 83, of Woody Way, Tallahassee, Fla., formerly of Pittsfield, died Wednesday at home.
Born in Manchester, Vt., on Nov. 23, 1923, daughter of Ralph and Hilda Kirton Johnston, she graduated from Pittsfield High School in 1942.
She had lived in Palmetto, Fla., in the 1970s and made Tallahassee her home in 1982.
Mrs. Longacre was employed by Grace Church in Tallahassee as a Bible teacher.
She was a member of Grace Church and a former member of Morningside Baptist Church.
She was predeceased by her first husband, Roger Dingham.
Her husband, Edwin Longacre, also is deceased.
She leaves a daughter, Sheryl A. Braun of Tallahassee; a brother, George Johnston of Pittsfield; and two grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Ruth Dingham Longacre, who died June 6, 2007, will be Tuesday, June 12, 2007, at 11 a.m. at Grace Church, with burial in Culley's MeadowWood Memorial Park, both in Tallahassee.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Big Bend Hospice, 1723 Mahan Center Boulevard, Tallahassee, FL 32308, or Grace Church of Tallahassee, 731 N. Gadsden St., Tallahassee, FL 32303.
She also leaves a son-in-law, Carl Braun of Tallahassee; two grandchildren, Heidi Braun and Mike Braun; and several nieces and nephews, including Claudia White.
