Katherine Rose Chagnon

Katherine Rose Chagnon, 25, of 42A North Sturbridge Road, Charlton, died Friday at Harrington Memorial Hospital in Southbridge of apparent heart failure.

She was a former resident of Pittsfield.

Born in San Diego on May 25, 1982, daughter of James T. and Rose Abbasciano Regan, she was a 2000 graduate of Mashpee High School and attended Western New England College. She had resided in Sturbridge and Mashpee before moving to Charlton.

For the past year, Mrs. Chagnon had been assistant general manager of Comfort Inn & Suites in Sturbridge. Before that, she was manager of Olympia Sports stores in Auburn and in Pittsfield.

She was a communicant of St. Ann's Church in Sturbridge and enjoyed going to the beach and cheering for the Boston Red Sox.

She and her husband, Brian J. Chagnon, were married Oct. 9, 2004, at St. Agnes' Church in Dalton.

Besides her husband and father, of Wareham, and mother, of Mashpee, she leaves a daughter, Audrey L. Chagnon, at home; a brother, James P. Regan of Wareham; and a sister, Lisa M. Regan of Leominster.

FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Katherine Rose Chagnon, who died Friday, June 8, 2007, will be Wednesday at 9 a.m. at DERY FUNERAL HOME in Pittsfield, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Agnes' Church in Dalton celebrated by the Rev. Michael Twohig of the Diocese of Springfield.

Burial will follow in Pittsfield Cemetery. Calling hours will be tomorrow from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Katherine also leaves her father- and mother-in-law, Edward A. and Patricia Vincent Chagnon of Dalton; her brother-in-law, Craig M. Chagnon and his wife, Amanda; and her nephew, Tyler Chagnon.

Katherine's greatest joy was being a mom and being with her family and friends. Memorial donations may be made to the Audrey L. Chagnon Trust Fund, in care of the funeral home, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield, MA 01201.
