Donald Napoleon LaFleur, 80, of 45 Main St., died Monday at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in Northampton on June 18, 1926, son of Dugald N. and Laura Vignault LaFleur, he attended local schools.
He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the Navy aboard the USS Antietam, much of the time in the Asiatic-Pacific area.
He was employed for many years at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Leeds, and was their purchasing agent at the time of his retirement in 1975.
Mr. LaFleur lived all his life in Northampton until making his home at the Sugar Hill Retirement Community in Dalton in September 2006.
He was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church in Northampton.
He and Patsy Miller were married on June 25, 1960, in Wheeling, W.Va.; she died Dec. 22, 2000.
He leaves a daughter, Pamela Ann Winston of Lee; his identical twin brother, Dugald G. LaFleur of Northampton; a sister, Evelyn Bailey of Springfield; and two grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Donald N. LaFleur, who died Monday, June 4, 2007, will be Friday morning at 11 at the ROCHE FUNERAL HOME, with the Rev. Daniel Papineau, pastor of St. Mary's Church in Lee, officiating.
Calling hours at the funeral home will be Friday from 9 a.m. until the time of the funeral. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Community Resources for People with Autism, in care of the funeral home, 120 Main St., Lenox, MA 01240.
Mr. LaFleur is also survived by his beloved grandsons, Zachary R. and Brian C. Winston, and his son-in-law, Christopher Winston, all of Lee. He was predeceased by his sister, Marion Vanasse.
