Madeline V. Baroli, 82, of 176 Columbus Ave., died Saturday at Mount Greylock Extended Care Facility following a long illness.
Born in Pittsfield on Oct. 24, 1924, daughter of Paul F. and Daisy Gartin Baroli, she was a 1942 graduate of Pittsfield High School. She was also a graduate of Berkshire Business School.
Ms. Baroli was employed by General Electric Co. as a secretary, working in various departments, including power transformer and ordnance. She retired in August 1985 with 42 years of service. During the Depression, she was employed by the former J.J. Newberry Store.
A lifelong resident of Pittsfield, she was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church.
She leaves three sisters, Patricia Maloney of Pittsfield, Teresa Allen of Levittown, Pa., and Mary Baroli of Foxboro; and a brother, John Baroli of Windsor.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Madeline V. Baroli died in Pittsfield on Saturday, June 2, 2007. She leaves her friend of over 50 years, Mildred Davis of Foxboro; her brother-in-law, John Maloney; and many nieces and nephews. She was the beloved godmother of Joanne Lahey of Richmond and Theresa Poore of Levittown, Pa.
She will be remembered as a loving daughter, sister and aunt. Throughout her life, generosity and helpfulness were hallmarks of her character. The funeral will be celebrated tomorrow at 9 a.m. with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at St. Joseph's Church by Monsignor Michael Shershanovich, pastor.
Burial will follow in Pittsfield Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Joseph's Church or to the Salvation Army, care of DWYER FUNERAL HOME, 776 North St., Pittsfield, MA 001201, which is in charge of arrangements.
