Lillian Grace Schnopp, 94, of 876 South St., died Thursday at home.
Born in Greenwich, N.Y., on April 7, 1913, daughter of Albert and Margaret Moon Ward, she was educated in schools there and graduated from the former La Baron Hairdressing Academy in Pittsfield.
A cosmetologist, Mrs. Schnopp owned and operated the former Powder Puff and the former Lilly-Ann's beauty salons, both in Pittsfield. From 1952 to 1982, she owned and operated Lil's Beauty Salon in Dalton.
She was a communicant of St. Agnes' Church and enjoyed travel, camping in the Adirondacks and spending time at her winter home in Florida.
Her husband, Augustus J. Schnopp Sr., whom she married Aug. 15, 1932, died Nov. 7, 1984.
She leaves a son, Augustus J. Schnopp Jr. of Dalton; two daughters, Marilyn Brigley of Dalton and Verna Walker of Southampton; 17 grandchildren; and 31 great-grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Lillian Grace Schnopp, who died Thursday, May 24, 2007, will be Tuesday at 10:15 a.m. from DERY-FOLEY FUNERAL HOME, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. Agnes' Church celebrated by the Rev. Christopher J. Malatesta, pastor.
Burial will follow in Ashuelot Cemetery. Calling hours will be Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mrs. Schnopp may be made to HospiceCare in the Berkshires in care of the funeral home, 890 East Main St., Dalton.
Mrs. Schnopp also is survived by her daughter-in-law, Joanne, and her sons-in-law, John Brigley and Bruce Walker. She was predeceased by two grandsons, John Brigley Jr. and Joseph Brigley.
