Jacqueline Harrison, 87, of 143 Grange Hall Road, died Sunday at home.
Born in West Haven, Conn., on March 30, 1920, daughter of James and Clara Harris Malcolm, she was educated in schools there and moved to Dalton in 1954.
Mrs. Harrison was employed by Wahconah Regional High School as a secretary in the guidance department, retiring in 1982.
She was a member of First Congregational Church and of a current topics club.
She enjoyed gardening, bird watching and volunteering at Elder Services. In her younger years, she was a Cub Scout leader and a member of the Dalton Grange.
She and her husband, Donald Harrison, were married July 29, 1939. He died in March 1997.
She leaves seven sons, Malcolm Harrison, James Harrison and Kenneth Harrison, all of Dalton, Bruce Harrison of Cummington, Duncan Harrison of Newburn, N.C., Keith Harrison of Hinsdale and Timothy Harrison of Tampa, Fla.; two daughters, Sandra Wilbur of Brockton and Heather Harrison of Ludlow; a sister, Claire Jeantet of the state of Florida; 26 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Jacqueline "Jackie" Harrison, who died Sunday, May 13, 2007, was very active in her community, and because of her loving and giving soul, will be dearly missed by her many friends and family. She also leaves several nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will be conducted Thursday at 1 p.m. at First Congregational Church of Dalton by the Rev. Robert Kyte. Calling hours will be tomorrow from 3 to 7 p.m. at BARTLETT-WELLINGTON FUNERAL HOME, 525 Main St., Dalton.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Dalton Ambulance Fund or to Dalton Congregational Church, both in care of the funeral home.
