Lynne R. Cutler, 59, of 217 Bridge St., Stamford, Conn., a native of Pittsfield, died Monday at Stamford (Conn.) Hospital following a short illness.
Born on March 14, 1948, daughter of Esther Bakst Cutler and the late Samuel Cutler, she was a 1965 graduate of Pittsfield High School and a 1970 graduate of the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where she earned a bachelor's in elementary education.
Ms. Cutler taught elementary school in the Stamford School System for many years, retiring in 2000.
She enjoyed knitting, reading and playing word games.
Besides her mother, of Pittsfield, she leaves a sister, Anita Bakst of Pittsfield; and a brother, Bruce Cutler of Naples, Fla.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Lynne R. Cutler, who died Monday, April 23, 2007, will be conducted Thursday at 11 a.m. at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-BENCIVENGA FUNERAL HOME, 5 Elm St., Pittsfield, by Rabbi David Greenspoon, spiritual leader of Knesset Israel Synagogue in Pittsfield, and by Barbara Cohen, spiritual leader of Ahavath Sholom Synagogue in Great Barrington.
Burial will follow in Knesset Israel Cemetery in Pittsfield. Memorial donations are suggested for Shriners' Children's Hospital or the Bennett Cancer Center in Stamford, both in care of the funeral home.
Ms. Cutler also leaves her brother-in-law, Gordon Scales; sister-in-law, Linda Cutler; a niece, Simone Hamrick and her husband, Wesley; two grandnieces, Katherine and Clara Hamrick; a grandnephew, Gavin Hamrick; many friends, including Jill and Doug Sendor-Laychak and Eileen McSweeney; and cousins, an aunt and an uncle.
