I was David's Sous Chef at Maldonado's in Pasadena. We had a lot of good times together. I still have and use several of the recipes that he gave me back in the 90's. I remember he drove a blue mustang... he had so much energy, and always had a great smile. Sometimes when I am in the kitchen and do something crazy, I stop and wonder why it is I act that way? Then say to myself, I do that because of Good old' Hashim. David, Alexander Kremmer and I used to dream of all going to Montroux together but it never happened I am a chef in San Diego and owe DH for the leg up he gave to a kid fresh out of culinary school. My condolences
Tim
