Agnes H. Malone, 95, of Pomeroy Manor, died Saturday at Springside of Pittsfield, where she had resided since Feb. 3.
Born in Pittsfield on Jan. 8, 1912, daughter of Augustus and Agnes O'Keefe Herrick, she was a member of the former Dalton High School Class of 1929.
Mrs. Malone was employed as a bookkeeper for local businesses and retired in 1980 from Betnr Engineering & Construction Corp. Previously, she had worked for the Holy League of Charity offices in Pittsfield and Holyoke.
She was a communicant of St. Agnes' Church, a member of its Rosary Society, and a frequent volunteer.
Mrs. Malone had been a 20-year active member and past president of AARP Pittsfield Chapter 159, a past president of the Business and Professional Women's Club, a member of the Dalton Housing Authority since 1994, and past secretary of Dalton Senior Citizens' Club. She also volunteered with Berkshire Community Action Council.
Her husband, Loren C. Malone, whom she married on Aug. 31, 1933, died on Feb. 2, 1962.
Mrs. Malone leaves two sons, Loren J. Malone of Jacksonville, N.C., and Robert F. Malone of Dalton; eight grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Agnes Herrick Malone, who died Saturday, April 7, 2006, will be at a date and time to be announced. There are no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to St. Agnes' Church Centennial Fund, in care of DERY-FOLEY FUNERAL HOME, 890 East Main St., Dalton. Mrs. Malone also leaves several nieces and nephews, to whom she was known fondly as "Aunt Sally."
