William Nicholas Boos

William Nicholas Boos, 69, of 27 Truran Lane, Whitewood,died Friday at Berkshire Medical Center after a long illness.
Born in Pittsfield on Jan. 27, 1938, son of William R. and Grace Ames Boos, he attended local schools and was a 1955 graduate of Pittsfield High School.
Mr. Boos was an oil burner service technician for 41 years, and had worked for Pariseau Heating Co., Lipton Oil Co. and Knapp Oil Co.
He was a communicant of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church and had served as president of the Whitewood Association from 2002 to 2005.
He was also a volunteer for the Pittsfield Fourth of July parade committee for 20 years. Mr. Boos enjoyed woodworking, cabinet making and football.
He and his wife, the former Bertha R. "Bert" Rawling, were married March 15, 1974, in Stephentown, N.Y.
Besides his wife, Mr. Boos leaves two sons, Stephen D. Boos and Lawrence W. Boos, both of Pittsfield; a stepson, Ray W. Pulver Jr. of San Jose, Calif.; a daughter, Debra M. Davies of Pittsfield; a stepdaughter, Carol A. Wilson of Pittsfield; a sister, Beverly A. Chartier of Lady Lake, Fla., and Lenox; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for William N. Boos, who died Friday, Feb. 23, 2007, will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at the DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St., conducted by the Rev. Hannah Anderson, rector of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church.
Burial will follow in the Pittsfield Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest that memorials in his memory be made to the Berkshire Humane Society in care of the funeral home.
Billy is lovingly survived by his nine grandchildren, Hunter, Brody, David, Christopher, Gabriella, Larry Jr., Brent, Brandon and Billy, and by two great-grandchildren. He also leaves a son-in-law, Patrick E. Wilson; two daughters-in-law, Kathy and Debbie Boos; and a brother-in-law, Dr. Charles Chartier. Bill will be deeply missed by all who loved him. He will be missed by his two pet cats, Minnie and Muffy, whom he loved dearly.
