Sophie A. Perron

Sophie A. Perron, 89, of 730 Main St., died Sunday at Mount Greylock Extended Care Facility, where she had resided since December.
Born in Dalton on Feb. 20, 1917, daughter of Rudolf and Agatha Bicknell Brinkmann, she was a 1934 graduate of the former Dalton High School.
Mrs. Perron was employed at General Electric Co. for a short time prior to her marriage.
She was a member of the Dalton United Methodist Church for 77 years.
She was a member of local, state and national granges, a member of the Order of Patrons of Husbandry and a member of the Christian Center Auxiliary.
Her husband, Howard Perron, whom she married July 28, 1939, died Sept. 1, 1989.
Mrs. Perron leaves four daughters, Carolyn Guidi of Orange City, Fla., Judith Meyers of Chester, Darleen Zopf of Derry, N.H., and Kristine Strong of Leominster; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Sophie Perron, who died Sunday, Feb. 18, 2007, will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Dalton United Methodist Church with the Rev. Robert Jackson and the Rev. John Smith officiating.
Burial will be in the Main Street Cemetery. Calling hours will be tomorrow from 4 to 7 p.m. at the BARTLETT WELLINGTON FUNERAL HOME. She also leaves her sons-in-law, Clento Guidi, Donald Meyers, and Paul Strong; grandchildren Wendy, Steven, Darren, Michele, David, Erica and Heather; great-grandchildren, Raymond, Shannon, Shelby, Justin, Benjamin, Emily, Nicole, Brittany, Katherine and Colin; and a great-great-granddaughter, Angelina.
Donations in her memory may be made to the Dalton United Methodist Church or HospiceCare in the Berkshires care of the funeral home, 525 Main St., Dalton, MA 01226.
