Helen R. Fox Tomasini, 57, of 10220 Molino Road, Santee, Calif., died Friday at home of leiomyosarcoma, a rare form of cancer.
Born in Cincinnati on Aug. 1, 1949, daughter of Edward and Olivette Perrault Fox, she attended Catholic schools in Cincinnati and Manchester, N.H. She graduated from Villa Augustina High School in 1965 and attended New Hampshire College of Accounting and Commerce, Babson College and Berkshire Community College.
Mrs. Tomasini was a longtime resident of Dalton and Hinsdale before moving to California.
She was a banker for the last 32 years. Most recently, she worked as vice president of business banking, client manager for Bank of America in San Diego. Previously, she worked at First Agricultural Bank, Berkshire Bank, Bank of New England and Fleet Bank in Pittsfield and Metro West, and Brockton Credit Union and Eastern Banks in Boston. In addition to her banking career, she owned and operated The Hardware House in Dalton and Pittsfield with her husband, Paul Tomasini.
In Berkshire County, Mrs. Tomasini was an active member of the Central Berkshire Chamber of Commerce and the Berkshire United Way, and was a volunteer teacher with Junior Achievement. She was a two-term member of the Central Berkshire Regional School District's school board, as well as a member of the Dalton Town Finance Committee.
She leaves her husband, Paul C. Tomasini of Santee, Calif., whom she married on Aug. 23, 1969, in Manchester, N.H.
She also leaves a daughter, Rebecca Tomasini of South Pasadena, Calif.; and a son, Eric Tomasini of Boston.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- A funeral mass for Helen Fox Tomasini, who died Friday, Jan. 26, 2007, will be held at 11 a.m. this Saturday at St. Agnes' Church, Main Street, Dalton. There will be no calling hours or graveside service.
In lieu of flowers and mass cards, memorial donations may be made to UCLA's Jonsson Cancer Center Foundation, Box 951780, Factor Building, Room 8-950, Los Angeles, CA 90095-1780, or online at giving.ucla.edu/cancer. Mrs. Tomasini also leaves six nieces and nephews. Her brother, Edward Fox Jr., died in 1978.
