Evelyn Frances Dollar, 95, formerly of 6 Main St. died yesterday at Providence Care Center.
Born in Great Barrington on Nov. 13, 1911, daughter of Charles F. and Ada Harmon Wichmann, she attended schools there and was a 1929 graduate of the former Searles High School. Later, she graduated from the former Berkshire Business College of Pittsfield in 1930.
She had resided in Great Barrington until 1972 when she moved to Lenox.
Mrs. Dollar was employed by Culligan Water Conditioning, retiring in 1980. Previously, she was employed as a bookkeeper for several businesses in Great Barrington.
She was a communicant of St. Helena's Chapel in New Lenox and had been a member and past president of the Thursday Morning Club in Great Barrington.
Her husband, William Dollar, whom she married Dec. 9, 1932, died March 16, 1958.
She leaves a brother, Edward H. Wichmann of Lenox and one step-granddaughter.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Mrs. Evelyn F. Dollar, who died Monday, Jan. 8, 2007, will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at St. Helena's Chapel in New Lenox, conducted by the Rev. Daina Salnitis, rector of St. Helena's Chapel.
Burial will follow in Elmview Cemetery in Great Barrington. The family will receive friends at St. Helena's parish hall Wednesday from 9 a.m. until the time of the funeral. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to St. Helena's Chapel in care of the ROCHE FUNERAL HOME, 120 Main St., Lenox, MA 01240.
Mrs. Dollar also leaves her step-granddaughter, Barbara Dollar Davis of Charlottesville, Va.; and several nieces and nephews. Another brother, Russell A. Wichman, is deceased.
