Mildred Halpin Thompson, 91, of 154 Plunkett St. died Thursday at home.
Born in Waterbury, Conn., on June 29, 1915, daughter of George and Ruby Trask Barden, she lived in Lee before moving at an early age to Lenox, where she graduated from Lenox High School.
She was employed by Elise Farars for many years, and later at Talbots, retiring in 1979.
She was a Red Sox fan.
Her first husband, George T. Halpin, whom she married in October 1936, died in 1985.
Her husband, Arlie Thompson, whom she married in July 1988, died in 1998.
She leaves a son, G. David Halpin of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. A son, Ronald J. Halpin, is deceased.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- A private graveside service for Mildred Halpin Thompson, who died Thursday, Nov. 9, 2006, will be held at the convenience of the family. She leaves her grandchildren, Mark, Susan and Jef Halpin and Jodi Raynor; and her six great-grandchildren.
She also leaves her daughters-in-law, Alice and Susan Halpin. KELLY FUNERAL HOME in Lee is in charge of arrangements. In 2000, Mildred began wintering in Naples. Fla., and summered in Lenox.
