Timothy Jack Baron, 55, of 25 West St. died Saturday at home.
He was born in Pittsfield on July 12, 1951, son of the late Thaddeus and Thelma Hosmer Baron, and at age 21 entered into the BCARC family program of disabled adults.
He previously resided at Copley House and at Dartmouth House, and in Lenox.
Mr. Baron was employed by Zip ‘N Sort Mailing Service, retiring in 1994 after many years of service. Before that, he worked at Berkshire Unlimited.
He was affectionately known as the "Mayor of Pittsfield" because of his penchant for wearing a sports coat.
He enjoyed music and karaoke, especially performing "Bad to the Bone" and "Sweet Child of Mine" for family and friends.
He leaves a sister, Virginia Carpenter Gammell of St. Johnsbury, Vt.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Timothy Jack Baron, who died Saturday, Oct. 7, 2006, surrounded by his BCARC family and friends, will be conducted Thursday, Oct. 12, at noon at DWYER FUNERAL HOME by the Rev. Peter A. Gregory, pastor of St. Charles' Church.
Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Thursday from 11 until the service at noon. He also leaves his Uncle Robert; his nephew, R. Lee Gammell, and his children, Cory and Erin; and a niece, Cathy, and her children, Chelsea and Alex.
Memorial contributions may be made to BCARC or to a charity of one's choice, in care of the funeral home, 776 North St., Pittsfield, MA 01201. Timothy will be remembered for his great sense of humor and warm affection, and for his ability to always make everyone smile.
