Shirley F. Linker, 70, of 1029 South St. died yesterday at Berkshire Medical Center after a brief illness.
Born in Pittsfield on Jan. 6, 1936, daughter of Francis and Lillian Cuddahy Watkins, she was a 1953 graduate of St. Joseph's High School.
Mrs. Linker worked in banking for more than 30 years, retiring in 2001 as personal manager at Legacy Banks and was employed previously by the former Berkshire County and City Savings banks. She was a licensed real estate broker at Dalton Town and Country Real Estate for more that 20 years. She was also a notary public.
She was a communicant of St. Agnes' Church and played cards in the Pittsfield American Legion Pitch League.
She enjoyed taking trips to casinos and was a Boston Red Sox fan.
Her husband, Harold J. Linker Jr., whom she married in Pittsfield on July 21, 1956, died in May 2004.
She leaves a daughter, Daryl Linker of Hinsdale; two sons, Hal Linker of Pittsfield and Raymond Linker of Dalton; a sister, Eileen Campagna of Atlanta; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Shirley F. Linker, who died Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2006, will be Saturday, Sept. 30, at 9 from DWYER FUNERAL HOME, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at St. Agnes' Church in Dalton at 10 celebrated by the Rev. Christopher Malatesta, pastor.
Burial will follow in Ashuelot Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home will be tomorrow, Sept. 29, from 4 to 7. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, in care of the funeral home, 776 North St., Pittsfield, MA 01201, in her memory. She also leaves many nieces and nephews.
