John R. "Bud" Flynn

John R. "Bud" Flynn, 76,of 388 Pittsfield Road died Tuesday at his home.

Born in Pittsfield on Oct. 1, 1929, son of John H. and Ethel Burgner Flynn, he resided in Lenox all of his life. He was a 1946 graduate of Lenox High School, and attended Munson Academy from 1946 to 1947.

He graduated from Brown University in 1951 with a degree in civil engineering.

He was an Army veteran of the Korean War, serving from 1951 to 1953.

Following the war, he joined his parents in operating John H. Flynn Tree Service. At the time of his death, he and his son were the owners and operators of the company.

He was a communicant of St. Ann's Church in Lenox, a former member of the Lenox D.P.W. Board and a former member of the Lenox Lions Club.

He and his wife, the former Mary J. Klanderman, were married Oct. 30, 1954.

Besides his wife, he leaves a son, John R. "J.R." Flynn; two daughters, Kathleen M. Carter of Bryan, Texas, and Patricia E. Flynn Quinn of Lenox; a sister, Carol A. Consolati of Lee, and three grandchildren.

FUNERAL NOTICE -- Funeral services for John "Bud" Flynn, who died Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2006, will be held at 11:15 on Friday from KELLY FUNERAL HOME in Lee with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at St. Ann's Church in Lenox at noon, with the Rev. Christopher J. Waitkus, pastor, officiating.

Burial will follow in St. Ann's Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Friends wishing may make memorial donations to the Lenox Police & Fire Charities in care of the funeral home, 3 Main St., Lee, MA 01238.

Mr. Flynn also leaves his three beloved grandchildren, Jonathan Carter, Melissa Carter and Stephen Quinn; his sons-in-law, James Carter and Edward T. Quinn; his daughter-in-law, Kimberly Reopell Flynn, and his brother-in-law, Frank A. Consolati, along with six nephews and many friends.

He predeceased by a sister, Eileen VanZandt, who died in 1969. He will be sadly missed by all.
