Gladys C. Casey, 86, of 42 Sunnyside Drive died Wednesday at Mount Greylock Extended Care Facility in Pittsfield, where she had resided since August 2005.
Born in Hinsdale on July 25, 1919, daughter of Patrick J. and Rose A. Maxwell Conroy, she attended schools in Hinsdale and in Pittsfield, and was a 1937 graduate of Pittsfield High School.
Mrs. Casey was employed by the former Beloit-Jones Corp. in Dalton for 20 years as a secretary and receptionist, retiring in 1981.
She was a communicant of St. Agnes' Church and was a former member of its Rosary Sodality. She enjoyed her home.
She and her husband, Kenneth A. Casey, were married Feb. 14, 1942. He died April 27, 1991.
She leaves two sons, Daniel K. Casey of Dalton and Paul W. Casey of Waupaca, Wis.; three sisters, Dorothy J. Snyder, Helen J. Pomeroy and Elaine J. Barry, all of Dalton; five grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Funeral services for Gladys C. Casey, who died Wednesday, June 28, 2006, will be held today, Friday, at 9:30 a.m. at DERY-FOLEY FUNERAL HOME, with the Rev. Christopher Malatesta, pastor of St. Agnes' Church, officiating.
There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial in her memory may be made to St. Agnes' Church Food Pantry in care of the funeral home, 890 East Main St., Dalton, MA 01226.
Mrs. Casey is lovingly survived by her grandsons, Scott, Todd, Jeffrey, Tim and James Casey, and by four great-grandsons. She also leaves Dan Casey's fiancée, Deborah Cotter, and a daughter-in-law, Sharon Casey.
