Marjorie M. Barry, 80, of 255 Lebanon Ave. died Wednesday night at Springside of Pittsfield.
Born in Syracuse, N.Y., on Sept. 27, 1925, daughter of Joseph and Viola Blood White, she came to Pittsfield as a child. She attended local schools and was a 1944 graduate of Pittsfield High School.
She also attended the former Pittsfield Secretarial High School.
She was employed by the former Berkshire Nursing Home as an office assistant. Previously, she was employed as an office clerk by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Reclamation Board for 13 years.
She was a communicant of St. Mark Church.
She was also a member of the Women's Club of Pittsfield, served as an officer in the Tenants Association of Epworth Arms, was the first president of the women's fishing club in the Berkshires, the Streamline Anglers, and was a volunteer at St. Mark's School while her sons attended. She enjoyed traveling, reading, knitting and crocheting.
She and her husband, William E. Barry, were married June 2, 1956. He died Aug. 18, 1999.
She leaves four sons, Charles A. Barry of Milford, Conn., and Patrick F. Barry, Thomas C. Barry and Peter E. Barry, all of Pittsfield; a brother, Robert White of Lynn Haven, Fla.; and a granddaughter. A son, William J. Barry, died Sept. 3, 1973.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Liturgy of Christian Burial for Marjorie M. Barry, 80, who died June 21, 2006, will be celebrated Saturday at 9 a.m. at St. Mark Church by the Rev. John Salatino, pastor.
Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, if friends desire, donations in her memory may be made to St. Mark Church Memorial Fund in care of DEVANNY-CONDRON FUNERAL HOME, 40 Maplewood Ave., Pittsfield, MA 01201.
She also leaves her daughter-in-law, Judy Barry.
