Margaret M. Litano, 84, of 56 Farnsworth Terrace died Tuesday at Providence Care Center in Lenox, where she had resided since May 24.
Born in Pittsfield on Aug. 22, 1921, daughter of James J. and Catherine Maxwell Brown, she was a 1939 graduate of St. Joseph's High School.
Mrs. Litano worked at General Electric Co. as a keypunch operator for 22 years, retiring in 1983.
She was a communicant and founding member of St. Francis' Church, and a member of its Rosary Sodality, and a member of the GE Pensioners' Club.
She enjoyed knitting, sewing, crocheting and boating.
She and her husband, Joseph J. Litano, were married April 23, 1949. He died Oct. 16, 1969.
She leaves two daughters, Karen M. Magner of Pittsfield and Janice L. Durfee of Lenox Dale; four grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Margaret M. Litano, 84, who died Tuesday, June 20, 2006, will be celebrated tomorrow at 10 at St. Francis' Church by the Rev. Paul Bombardier, pastor. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, if friends desire, donations in her memory may be made to the Patient Activity Fund at Providence Care, in care of DEVANNY-CONDRON FUNERAL HOME.
She also leaves her grandchildren, Joseph J. Magner, Renee E. Durfee, Patrick J. Magner and Leslee M. Durfee; her great-grandchildren, Alex J., Ethan J., Brodiann, Skylarae, Bella Rose and Ashtin Magner, and Kaleb T. Durfee; three sisters-in-law, Helen Brown, and Marion and Rose Litano; her granddaughter-in-law, Cassandra Magner, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
