Mary Barbara Cooke, 80, of 575 Pomeroy Ave. died yesterday at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in Pittsfield on Jan. 27, 1926, daughter of Isadore and Filomena Pro Lisi, she was a 1944 graduate of Pittsfield High School.
Mrs. Cooke was employed by General Electric Co. for 18 years. Before that, she worked at the former Pocketbook Shop on Columbus Avenue and was a bookkeeper for her husband's law firm for a few years. During the 1990s, she worked at the Lerner Shop at Berkshire Mall.
She was a communicant of Mount Carmel Church and a member of the Women's Club and Sons of Italy Itam Lodge.
She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, doing crossword puzzles and going to casinos.
She and her husband, W. Stanley Cooke, would have celebrated their 44th wedding anniversary Sept. 29. They were married in Pittsfield.
Besides her husband, she leaves a daughter, Susan M. Cooke-Antonacci of Sterling, Va.; a brother, Emilio Lisi of the state of Florida; a sister, Anna Roraback of Pittsfield, and two grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Mary Barbara Cooke, who died Wednesday, June 21, 2006, will be Saturday, June 24, at 8:15 from DERY FUNERAL HOME, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9 at Mount Carmel Church celebrated by the Rev. Geoffrey J. Deeker, CSS, pastor.
Burial will follow in Mountain View Cemetery in Lenox. Calling hours will be tomorrow from 5 to 7 at the funeral home. Mrs. Cooke leaves two grandchildren, Kathleen and Joseph Antonacci.
She was predeceased by two brothers and a sister. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
