Margaret M. Kidney

Margaret M. Kidney, 87, of Lakewood Dr. died Friday evening at Berkshire Medical Center.

Born in Pittsfield on Sept. 17, 1918, daughter of Frank and Anna Deitz Yost, she was a 1936 graduate of Pittsfield High School and attended the former Berkshire Business College for one year.

A lifelong resident of Pittsfield, Mrs. Kidney was employed as a winder at the former Schaeffer Eaton Co., and retired in 1983 from the Nascon Department of Schaeffer Eaton, where she worked in the photo and binding departments.

Prior to that, she was a winder at General Electric.

She was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church. She was a member of the Pittsfield Arts League, and enjoyed painting and sculpting.

She was also a member of the Pittsfield Senior Citizens and loved traveling to Cape Cod and attending big band concerts.

Her husband, William J. Kidney, died Jan 13, 1977.

She leaves two daughters, Malita K. Lahey of Hinsdale and Colleen M. Kidney of Pittsfield.

FUNERAL NOTICE -- Funeral services for Margaret M. Kidney, who died Friday, June 16, 2006, will be on Wednesday at 8:15 a.m. from DWYER FUNERAL HOME with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church, celebrated by the Rev. Michael Shershanovich, pastor.

Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be tomorrow from 4 to 7 p.m. If friends desire, donations in her memory may be made to Nanatuck Resources, The Bobby Kidney Sunshine Club or to the Commission for the Blind in care of the funeral home, 776 North St., Pittsfield, MA 01201.
