Marie A. Cox

Marie A. Cox, 90, of St. Charles, Mo., formerly of Pittsfield, died Monday at Charlevoix Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in St. Charles.
Born Jan. 17, 1916, in St. John, Quebec, Canada, daughter of Alfred and Aldora Laurin, she moved here as a child and graduated from Pittsfield High School.
She was employed at General Electric Co. in Pittsfield in the Transformer and Ordnance Divisions, retiring after 30 years.
After retirement, she moved to Orlando, Fla., where she lived until 2003 when she moved to St. Charles.
While in Pittsfield, she was a communicant of Notre Dame Church. While in Florida, she was a communicant at St. James Cathedral in Orlando, where she was a eucharistic minister and volunteered for church functions.
She was a volunteer for the Salvation Army in Orlando.
Her first husband, Lewis Henry Shaw, and her second husband, Hubert P. Cox, are both deceased.
She leaves a son, Richard Shaw of St. Peters, Mo.; a brother Raymond Laurin of Hartford, Conn.; a sister, Theresa Dayton of Lenox; three grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- A service for Marie A. Cox, who died Monday, June 12, 2006, will be held in Cheshire Cemetery at a later date. There are no calling hours.
She also leaves a grandson, R. Steven Shaw of Houston, Texas; two granddaughters, Karen Sullivan of O'Fallon, Mo., and Lucy Shaw of Oklahoma City, Okla.; a great-grandson, Sean Sullivan of O'Fallon, Mo.; a great-granddaughter, Samantha Sullivan; a son-in-law, Greg Sullivan, and a daughter-in-law, Barbara Shaw.
